Supercharging Bolt Insight’s Brand Identity
The Challenge
Bolt Insight, an AI-powered consumer intelligence firm using advanced market research methodologies to deliver real-time insights, wanted to add more personality to their brand.
In a fast-moving, data-heavy industry, they needed a way to stand out at events and be instantly memorable while still reflecting their professionalism and innovation. The challenge was to create a distinctive visual identity that felt approachable and personification of the brand - something audiences could connect with and remember.
The Solution
Salamandra UK’s studio set out to design and develop Boltee - a bold, expressive 3D mascot to act as Bolt Insight’s visual anchor.
Our creative goal was to blend playfulness with professionalism, ensuring Boltee embodied the company’s personality which is innovative, energetic and distinctly personified of the brand.
By combining brand strategy, storytelling and advanced 3D design, we crafted a character that could engage audiences emotionally while reinforcing the brand’s identity across multiple platforms.
The Execution
Our studio brought Boltee to life from initial sketches to a fully 3D model with cinematic quality and charm. We focused on achieving a soft, tactile fur texture that looked lifelike without overcomplicating the model. The geometry was simplified to keep Boltee light and efficient for animation, perfect for quick-turnaround campaigns, while subtle motion layers gave Boltee natural energy and realism. Collaboration with the Bolt Insight team ensured every detail captured their brand essence.
The project didn’t stop at animation - we extended Boltee’s presence into merchandise and print-ready artwork, including T-shirts, caps and tote bags. Each design was purposefully clean and effective, balancing simplicity with playfulness to complement Bolt Insight’s professional tone.
The Results
Boltee now serves as a consistent, personification of the brand and touchpoint across Bolt Insight’s brand ecosystem - from presentations and event screens to AR/VR activations and online campaigns.
